Finally, if you haven't already discovered Smashwords, it's my favourite go-to place for free and frugal reads. Smashwords offers most books in multiple formats -- for almost any e-book reader or you can download a pdf or just read online. The books are self-published and authors set the price so they do vary but usually you can at least sample a chapter before you plunk down your hard-earned cash.
