Getting more from the Victoria Fringe Festival

By admin - Posted on 14 August 2009

The Victoria Fringe Festival rolls around August 27th - September 6th this year. There's still time to apply as a volunteer or to host a performer. If you have a spare bedroom or are willing to put up a performer somewhere in your home (rec room? do people still have those?) you can get a great benefit:

"your choice of 2 fringe visa buttons and 10 fringe tickets, or one button and a Fringe VIP Superpass. And a lot of sincere gratitude from both the fringe and your guest."

But what can you do if you live in a tiny shared apartment? You can still volunteer and "receive a  FRINGEBUCK for each 3-4 hour shift you work that is valid for admission to the show of your choice. We ask volunteers to sign up for a minimum of 3 shifts during the festival."

Of course if you don't have time for volunteering or space for travelling performers, you can still see some cutting edge theatre for relatively low prices and of course there is the FringeKids fest on Saturday August 29th in Market Square, too.... keep your eyes on the event calendar for other Fringe related events!
