If you've been considering starting yoga but can't afford the price, consider an outdoor summer class at Beacon Hill Park:
Yoga in the Park is "A drop in, beginner to intermediate hatha and vinyasa yoga class for all ages! Asana, pranayama and relaxation amidst the trees, earth, sky and animals is the way yoga began and is a fun and wonderfully grounding practice."

Classes will run from 5:30-7:00pm from June 21st until Aug 16th in Beacon Hill Park. Meet on the grass across from the Petting Zoo. The cost is 5$ or by donation, with all proceeds going to charity.

Please feel free to bring your family and/or friends who are drawn to, or may benefit from, this practice. Remember to also bring a mat or blanket to practice upon, and a warm layer for Savasana.

This year, there are three instructors: Mark, Conrad and Lori; Mark teaches most weeks.

Mark is a Hatha Yoga trained instructor of the Sivananda lineage with experience teaching vinyasa (flow) and Iyengar as well. Lori is also a Hatha teacher as well as a TCM practitioner; she has several years experience. Conrad is an Ashtanga instructor and teaches regularly as a sub at Yoga Shala, in addition to also having a TCM practice.

From Mark,  "The class in Yoga in the Park is always changing, depending upon who is present and where we all are. It is a fun and community oriented class that offers a balance of grounding, stretch, relaxation and physical challenge."
