Welcome to Frugal Victoria, everyone!

By admin - Posted on 05 August 2010

Hello everybody! Welcome to Frugal Victoria -- a special welcome for those just visiting for the first time, thanks to the Times-Colonist article that ran August 5th.
We've already had some feedback -- including one reader who strongly disagrees that replacing a toilet is too challenging for DIY. What do you think?
We love to get feedback either here, through the Contact form, or on twitter (@FrugalVictoria) or on Facebook!
(And if you're interested in helping us keep the calendar up to date or in advertising on FrugalVictoria, I'd love to chat with you.)

Trudy -- thanks for your comment. It's true, barter can be very useful at times and I have used that in the past, too.
Steven -- a Frugal meetup sounds like a great idea! Now if only someone had time to plan it! :)

I have just finished the T/C article and have been checking out your website. Well done! You are my type of people, I think! Re replacing a toilet: We all have our talents and lack of talents. I love decorate wedding and anniversary cakes but don't have the inclination to deal with a toilet. Some people are excellent plumbers but wouldn't dare attempt to make and decorate a stacked cake. So be it. My sister's boss was a "self made millionaire" with little schooling. He once told her that he didn't have any idea how to fix a washing machine, but he figured that if he was making enough to pay someone else to do the job, he was doing O.K. I think that is something to think about. Sometimes people get to trade favours for the jobs I mentioned. That is a legitimate way to do things also.

Great photo - I like the part about the DIY toilet repair. We should all start a Frugal Victoria meetup group! Steven
